Music Booster Club Objectives

  1. To promote, support, and maintain public interest in the Kaneland Middle School and High School Music

  4. To encourage interest in music for grades 6-12
  5. To provide opportunities for musical enrichment

Meetings and Membership

  • Beginning in August and ending in May of each school year, the Boosters meet every 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM.
  • Meetings alternate between the HS Band or Chorus Room (enter through the F7 door at the Northeast corner of the rear of the HS building), or at the MS Chorus Room (enter through the MS main entrance).
  • If there is a conflict with a Music Department event that Monday, the meeting is moved to Tuesday of the same week or the following Monday.
  • Membership is open to all parents of music students at no cost.
  • Optional dues are $20.00, with a free Music Boosters Tote Bag AND $5 Music Booster Bucks, good at any Music Booster sponsored event (excluding candy sales); additional Music Booster T-shirts are available at $10 each.
  • The dues are used to support the music programs at KMS and KHS..

Fundraisers

Music Boosters arranges and staffs fundraising activities such as:

  • REAM'S BBQ Dinner - usually held in May at the Elburn American Legion. Tickets are mailed home to the music students at the Middle School and High School who are then asked to sell the pork chop, bratwurst, and hot dog dinners. Music students are asked to help serve and clean up at the event.
  • POINSETTIA SALE. We sell flowers at all of the December Holiday Concerts.
  • 50/50 RAFFLES. Tickets are sold in the lobby at each concert. Profits go to fund student music scholarships.
  • CONCESSION STAND at all High School home football games. Boosters sell candy at all home football games next to the Sports Booster Barn.
  • CONCESSION STAND at Middle School track meets. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, and candy are sold by Boosters.
  • SPECIAL FUNDRAISERS. Special Fundraisers are selected each year. The Boosters have organized performances at the KHS auditorium, bowl-a-thons for the students, and other activities to raise funds for the music programs. Watch our calendar for upcoming events.
